We don’t generally discuss poop in our daily conversations, but asking questions about your bowel movements might give you an insight into your overall health.
So here’s the scoop on poop.
Going for a poo poo is the end result of your body taking the nutrients it need from the food you eat, and eliminating what’s left.
If it’s easy to take a dump and you are going once or twice a day, chances are your bowel movements are perfectly healthy.
If your poop is coming out like this you need to eat more fibre such as fruit, veg, and wholemeal grains! Poops that look like this is called polyps and if it happens a lot you should probably get checked out as it can lead to colon cancer.
This can happen if you have consumed too much fibre or if you’ve had a heavy night out drinking alcohol. Some people even get this when they are stressed out. So take time out to relax and reassess your diet.
Don’t ignore poop like this, go and see your doctor.
If your poop floats this isn’t normal. Take a look at your diet and make sure you are eating the right things. It’s important to eat a balanced diet to ensure your body is getting the right nutrients it needs. Stinky poop could also be an indicator that you are allergic to a food you’re eating.
Not going to the toilet often can lead to piles inside and outside your body, and they can be extremely painful. You want to avoid them at all costs. If they burst they can be dangerous, a trip to the pharmacy can help fix this problem short term, but if this carries on, you’ll need to speak to a doctor.
Try and drink at least 8 glasses of water a day and this should solve your problem.
If you’re worried about your poop, it’s nothing to be embarrassed about we all do it, go and see your doctor! They deal with these kind of things day in, day out. Better to be safe than sorry.
