Thieves Stole From Flamingo Fundraiser For Sick Teen, Then Cops Received An Anonymous Note…

This is  true example of why you should never steal anything, no matter how little the cost of the items.

When thieves who stole a set of plastic outdoor flamingoes soon realized that the flamingoes were worth more than money could buy, they sent a strange note to cops.

But why? Well this is a heart breaking story that will certainly bring tears you to your eyes.


After Abby Van Dyke of Weare, New Hampshire was diagnosed with the disease last month, members of the local community started a campaign to raise funds for her medical expenses through a Facebook group they created entitled #AbbyStrong “Army.”


Since orange is the color for leukemia awareness, the group decorated the town with orange plastic flamingos to symbolise the cause.

The flamingo’s were put there to cheer Abby up and make her feel special, so everyone was in shock when they were stolen.

“It was mostly about getting as many out before she came home from the hospital, so she’d drive through town and see them, and know that everyone was thinking of her and praying for her and her family,” Tippy Johnston, a family friend, told New Hampshire television station WMUR-TV.


Last week, the police reported that several of the plastic flamingoes around the town of Weare were missing. The town was devastated that residents could be so heartless as to steal these.
