This couple from San Diego died in each other’s arms after being happily married for a whopping 75 years.
After have a life-long companionship together Alexandaer and Jeanette Toczko said their goodbyes to the world together. They were married in 1940 and died just one day apart.
According to their children they actually fell in love at the age of eight years old. And since then no one could seperate the two.
“Their hearts beat as one from as long as I can remember. He died in her arms, which is exactly what he wanted. She hugged him and she said, ‘See this is what you wanted. You died in my arms and I love you. I love you, wait for me, I’ll be there soon.” their daughter Aimee Toczko-Cushman
Alexander, being a World War II veteran had another great love though and that was golf. His children said that he literally played the course every day. This all stopped when he recently had a fall that took his health for a downward spiral.
“He must have fallen. He broke his hip. His health took a turn for the worse. He was going fast.” says son Richard Toczko
The hospice caregiver decided to bring another bed into their home so that the couple could be right next to each other until the end. They celebrated their 75th aniversarry there and eventually their last moments.
“They both entered the pearly gates holding hands.” says son Richard Toczko
